Southwest sunsets are beautiful. Whether you have produced sunset paintings or not you will be able to produce beautiful paintings of sunsets using techniques and procedures that you will learn in this class. There will be step-by-step instructions and, if you wish, one-on-one help.
Sunsets can be done with a variety of mediums. Choose a medium from the supply list below. If you have questions, please email me at:

Materials:
Acrylics or Oil Colors:
Paints: Black, white, red, yellow and blue pigments that work together OR: Titanium White - Blue (Phthalocyanine Blue or Phthalo Blue or Winson Blue) - Red (Quinacridone Red or Naphthol Red or Pyrrol Red). Yellow (Arylide Yellow or Hansa Yellow) Ivory, Black.
Painting supports: canvas board, stretched canvas, gessoed Masonite and/or gessoed birch plywood
Size: O'Keeffe's style works best with 18 x 24 or larger painting supports
Brushes: A variety of round, filbert and flat brushes which are small, medium and large. Use small brushes for small paintings, large for large paintings.
Supplies: Liquid soap, soft paper towels, plastic sheet to cover your table, palette such as white foam plates, wide mouth plastic container(such as Cool Whip container) sketch book
Supplies for Oil Paints: kneaded eraser, charcoal pencil, odorless mineral spirits a second container with a screw top lid.
Supplies for Acrylic paints: vinyl eraser, #2 pencil
Watercolor or Gouache
Watercolors: An inexpensive set of watercolors or (same colors as above,
in Oil or Acrylic)
Supplies: water container, 140 lb. or heavier watercolor paper, #2 pencil, vinyl eraser, soft paper towels, plastic sheet to cover you table.
Brushes: small round water color brush, medium watercolor or filbert brush
Ink and Watercolor
A set of watercolor paints
Paper: 140 lb or heavier cold press watercolor paper
Supplies: Thin lilne or very thin line back waterproof pen, water container, HB pencil, vinyl eraser, Mr. Clean eraser, round sponge, natural sponge, soft paper towels
Brushes: small round watercolor brush, medium watercolor brush (optional mop brush)
Pastel
Sticks: 12 or larger piece soft pastel set with black
Eraser: kneaded eraser
Paper: 18 x 24 or larger acid free pastel paper or 300 to 600 grit sandpaper or fine or extra fine sanadpaper
Supplies: Soft paper towels
Colored Pencils:
Pencils Set of colored pencils
Paper: Drawing paper or drawing pad - your choice of size
Supplies: blending tool, stump, vinyl eraser
