*Attention Oil Painters:
Please us Safflower Oil to replace Gamsol, any similar "odorless" toxic vapor solvent to clean your oil brushes—no petroleum distillate products of any kind. There is ZERO need to use poisonous solvents when oil painting. Use Gamblin Solvent-Free Gel or Fluid Medium to thin your oil paints during painting, and use Safflower Oil to clean your brushes. Water-mixable oil paints are a great alternative!
If you're using oil or acrylic paints, you will need canvas, a variety of brushes, a container for water or oil painting medium, a palette, a palette knife, a range of colors, a water spray bottle for acrylic paints.
If you're using watercolor or gouache, you'll need a watercolor paper pad, block, or sheets (100% cotton paper is favorable), a portable watercolor set, a pencil, a clean water container, a variety of watercolor brushes, a water spray bottle, and paper towels.
If you're using pastels, you'll need toned pastel paper, a retractable razor blade, a charcoal pencil, a kneaded eraser, and a wide range of pastels.
