This course is designed for new artists to learn painting techniques using acrylic paint on canvas as well as other mediums. This class is for artists who wish to try the acrylic medium. This course has been designed around the following concepts:
a. Hands on experience to allow for personal growth
and enjoyment.
b. Learning about acrylic paint and various techniques
to paint their pet or chosen subject.
This course is a painting class. The painting will be sketched out by Kelly Bowman, not you the student, for the students to paint.
**All participants need to submit their photo to Kelly Bowman at least one week before class. If you don't have a pet, a photo can be provided for you. Submit your photo before class to Kelly at rollinghorsestudio@cox.net. Be sure to tell her you are a student in this Grand Art Club class.
Materials:
- All materials will be provided to paint a 9”x 11” canvas painting. This includes the use of professional acrylic paints, easels, paintbrushes, etc
- Students should wear old clothing that can get paint on them, an apron or art shirt, water or a refreshment to make them comfortable during class.
- Bring your smiles!
Objectives:
- Students will use acrylic paints to paint their pre-sketched canvas.
- Students will learn how to mix paints to create their painting
- Students will learn the care and maintenance of the paint, canvas, and brushes
- Students will paint their pet portrait painting.
