You can produce beautiful drawings of trees with graphite. You will learn how to draw a variety of southwest trees with tone. First, you will learn how to use tools and techniques to produce textures, shapes and shadows found on trees. As we do this, you will learn terms. Each technique will be demonstrated and practiced. We will use a variety of tools to produce these effects. We aim to produce finished graphite drawings.
Materials:
The instructor will bring supplies for your use, or you may bring some or all of your own supplies.
1. Stumps
2. Vinyl Eraser
3. HB pencil
4. 9B pencil
5. 4 H pencil
6. Graphite crayone
7. Graphite Bar
8. Soft Paper towels
9. Cotton Balls
Supplies Students Will Need to Bring to Class:
1. Pad of drawing paper or copy paper
2. Plastic gloves (optional) so you will not need to wash graphite off your fingers.
Objectives:
1. Students will learn techniques and terms of drawing.
2. Students will be able to finish several graphite drawings.
