Embarak on a creative journey into the world of wet felting. This workshop focuses on crafting a felted vessel from start to finish. While more hands-on and time-intensive than some other felting classes, the process remains slow, forgiving and centered on the joy of creation. Students will work continuously with their hands, transforming raw fibers into a tangible piece of art.
Materials:
- All materials will be provided by the instructor to wet felt your vessel. This includes the use of professional tools, Merino wool, embellishments, etc.
Materials Provided by Student:
Please bring 1 old bath towel and 1 hand towel, please wear comfortable attire that you don't mind getting wet and a beverage and snack if needed.
Objectives:
- Learning Wet Felting Fundamentals. Gain a thorough understanding and practical experience in the enjoyable art of wet felting.
- Independent Practice: Acquire the essential knowledge and skills required to continue practicing wet felting at home.
- Fiber Experimentation: Explore and experiment with diverse fibers, including silk, bamboo and other materials to enhance their felted creations.
- Completed Project: Successfully create and take home a unique, handcrafted felted vessel.
