Inspired by the beauty and nature of the desert botanicals in clay pots. This class is for first time and intermediate acrylic artists. Students will paint on canvas a variety of desert botanicals and blooms. Students will learn about composition mixing paint colors, painting techniques and the use of a variety of brushes on canvas. Choose your background colors for the canvas and paints from the instructors paint box.

Materials provided by the Instructor:

All materials will be provided by the Instructor for this class.

• There is a $20 charge for a frame when available. Pay the instructor at the beginning of the class. 
• Acrylic paints will be provided by the Instructor; however Students may bring their own and brushes if they already have them; Acrylic paints and Abstract Ink pens will be presented during the class for the artwork and made available as needed from the Instructors’ paint box.
• Paint brushes for use with both oil and water-based acrylics. Instructor provided at each workstation.
• Stencils may be used to create your artwork.
• A digital print of the artwork and or stencils will be made available to the students to create this artwork.

Materials provided by the students:

• Artist apron or art shirt-**optional for artists who do not want any paint on their clothing.
• Paper towels.
• Face masks - **optional, not provided by the art center. Please bring your own if it makes you feel comfortable.

Objectives:

1. Students will learn the technique of composition; color theory using acrylics and painting on canvas.
